2019-20 Upcoming dates for STEM Events:
  • November 12th, Lunch & Learn in Dr Link's room #400 10:30-1:30pm.  A guest speaker will share their wisdom on a STEM topic during each of the three lunch periods. Dr. Rick Knabb, Hurricane Specialist on the Weather Channel. He has had a busy year! Think of some good questions.

  • December 3rd, Lunch & Learn in Dr Link's room #400 10:30-1:30pm. A guest speaker will share their wisdom on a STEM topic during each of the three lunch periods. Jessica Sanderson, Director of Sustainability at Novelis, will be doing a presentation on unconscious bias. Unconscious bias (or implicit bias), according to Vanderbilt University, is defined as "prejudice or unsupported judgements in favor of or against one thing, person, or group as compared to another, in a way that is usually considered unfair."

National Merit Semifinalists

Last year Walton has 31 students in our senior class who have been named as National Merit Semifinalists. Of those 31students, 13 have come from our second class of Walton STEM Academy students. We are so proud of these students!

Congratulations to David Cornell, Eashan Gandotra, Vineet Gangireddy, Nicholas Hong, Darren Kosen, Varun Krishnaswamy, Isha Palakurthy, Anika Park, Varsha Ramachandra, Elizabeth Sims, Jayson Wu, Kevin Wu, and Margaret Zhang for being named as National Merit Semifinalists.

Jayson Wu and Kevin Wu are two of our National Merit SemiFinalists.
